The Idea of an Ultimate Power as per Hinduism

The fame of the oldest religion in the world goes to Hindu religion. There are a lot of Hindu Gods and Goddesses unlike several other religions of the world. Apauruseya - one which is not originated because of individuals, is what Hinduism is referred to as. Gods in Hinduism are referred to like this. One can find a lot of deities in Hindu religion however all belong to the same supreme power of this universe. The ultimate power is called as Brahman.

Characteristics of God According to Hindu Scriptures.

Holy scriptures of Hinduism have mentioned the characteristics of a god in them. He must be aware of anything occurring in the universe and he is the supreme power. Love, justice and beauty are parts of him. He has created this universe, , which makes him the sole owner who should be blessing the world. It is mentioned in Rig Veda that eleven Rudras, twelve Adityas, 8 Vasus, Indra and Prajapathi are rulers of all the beings on Earth, the Space and the Heaven. Rig Veda also says that all deities in Hinduism are different parts of the absolute power of the universe.

Hindu religion explains two philosophies called Ishta Devaa and Adhikaara, as per which devotees can choose any deity who can satisfy their spiritual needs. A devotee can follow any god in order to fulfill his spiritual quest.

Important Deities.

As Hindu religion has many Goddesses and Gods, it is tough to classify them in any way. However, Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are the main gods in Hindu religion, who are responsible for creation, preservation or saving the universe and destruction of the universe, respectively. In addition to these gods, the female deities formed from the power Shakti are also important. Saraswati, Lakshmi and Parvati are the most important Goddesses in Hindu religion. Kali and Durga are also considered to be avtars of Shakti.

There are other deities (forms of these gods and goddesses), who are being worshipped by millions of devotees. Krishna, Rama, Ganesha and Hanuman are some of the favorite gods of several Hindus across the world. Devis and Devas are another name for Goddesses and Gods.

Main Avtars.

The most important avtars as per Hinduism are the 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu. The most well known belief of Hindus is that the protector Vishnu takes birth in various forms in the universe, to save it from evil forces. These are known as his ten avatars. They are Balarama, Vamana, Matsya, Koorma, Varaha, Narasimha, Rama, Parashurama, Krishna and Khalki. Protector Vishnu incarnate as Khalki (his tenth avtar) in the current epoch (Kaliyuga), according to followers of Hindu religion.

Worshippers also regard air, water, sun, earth and fire as Gods. These are also known as five components. Hindu believers worship fauna and flora, considering them as gifts of God.
