The Different Potential Uses For Cast Iron Umbrella Stands

By Josh Ravisky

A cast iron umbrella stand is a good feature to add to your own bedroom. There is certainly nothing quite like waking up to a vase of newly picked flowers to put you in an incredible mood for the day. If you don't like flowers maybe since you are allergic you may still use one of these stunning stands as a decoration in your room.

It's amazing just how versatile these items are. Some of them are so lovely it would be a shame to place them in the corner of the hallway being overshadowed by the umbrellas they're holding. If you are fortunate to have an open fireplace in your living room you may already have invested in a cast iron fire surround.

Quite a lot of these intricate carvings are based mostly either on the Victorian period when carvings of birds, love statues and different natural objects were especially fashionable or the Art Noveau period when every little thing was so beautifully adorned.

Adorning your house and garden is a matter of personal taste but it helps if you keep in style with the design of your own home. If you reside in a period house, you expect to find period qualities inside and out. A cast iron umbrella stand within the entrance hall sets the tone as does one on the terrace if you have invested in iron garden furniture.

Regardless of where in your home you will locate these iron pieces you have to take care to take care of them. Since they're constructed from metal they're predisposed to rust and will have to be covered with an anti rust agent now and again. They may also need repainting 4-5 years depending on their location. In case you plan on using a cast iron umbrella stand in the kitchen area or rest room a wrought iron alternative may be a better option.
