Sarah Palin did not write this book. In addition, she offers nothing new.
I like Sarah Palin because she represents the many women who love their country and want to do more than complain like these liberals do. I give her a lot of credit for standing firm on her beliefs and not allowing bullies like the liberals who continue to take cheap shots at her. I agree with Mrs Palin that common sense is something we have unfortunately lost in most politicians. And when you write your review, try and review the text, not your personal political opinion of the author. Palin believes that the United States can return as leader in global greatness by following the principles the original founding fathers set out in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Recent administrations have drifted far from these principles. I bought this book for my 18 year old son for Christmas. He read it earlier this week.
Page after page, Sarah reminds me of what is important, and she does so in a way that is enjoyable to read. Do yourself a favor, and get this book.
This is an excellent book as it delivers many messages from heart to heart. I recommend it to all ages, especially our youth.
Her book, like her, is smoking mirrors and no substance. After reading some of the reviews posted here I was skeptical of the book, but Sarah Palin has told it like it is.
There is repetition, her usual jabs at the current president (which are personal and definitely un-Christian), and not enough about Alaska. Except for her partisan politics, young people especially can benefit from reminders of American history if it is not being taught in school. Our "rights," as American citizens, come from our written Constitution and its expressed ideals, not from "God." She bad mouths even Ronald Reagan, George Bush I & II, Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton and of course President Obama. But I traveled all over America and met so many great Americans, not famous people, not astronauts, not movie stars but people who had made their modest mark on American history. I read the story of our Constitution and how it was written and came to realize that even with all our high-tech achievements and our "sophistication" we had no monopoly on genius. Also, I have odd suspicions about her faith (Palin, not Meyer, who is clearly a Mormon). For one thing, she never quotes the bible, instead throwing in the overused pagan truism "god helps those who help themselves" from Aesop's fable about Hercules and the carter. She claims that the country must be taken back, without acknowledging that those who took the country by electing our current president were also American citizens. Palin does not mean this book to garner support for her from those not already her followers, as the book is full of disparaging statements about liberals.
Gavora references the Emperor's New Clothes and modifies the story by making Reference to the "Empress" not wearing any clothes. This is political satire at its best.
