Billy The Exterminator, Naturalist, Family Man?

By Dr. Doug Asher

Billy Bretherton, otherwise known as Billy the Exterminator is an expert in the field of pest control and is a huge proponent of natural methods of control.

In his series Billy the Exterminator, he commands a great knowledge of pests, animals, anywhere from the diseases they carry, their entomology, and even their scientific names. It makes for a great show and learning potential to all his viewers.

His views on using natural ways of pest removal come from an accidental poisoning while he was still in the United States Air Force. He was working in a crawl space when the dusting machine was accidently turned on covering him in insecticide. This caused him to have severe vomiting and gave him the unique view of what it's like to be poisoned.

You can also call Billy the family man; he works with his family, friends and employees on his show Billy the Exterminator, a spinoff of his Dirty Jobs appearance. His mother handles dispatch and his brother Ricky working jobs on and off camera. Billy's wife was seen on season one, but has resigned from the show.

Although there are many other pest control companies in the state, Vexcon is the only team that handles all types of animal removal. From tiny ants to giant snakes, Billy and his team have seen everything.
