At my Big Money Speaker Boot Camps, I have been holding charitable giving sessions, meaning that I present an opportunity for our great entrepreneurs to give back by creating an opportunity for them to donate money to aid others. Specifically, this charitable organization has been the LEAP Foundation. This foundation raises money to assist teens and young adults by providing scholarships to a week long summer camp. In this camp, the students learn real life information on how to conduct themselves to be successful in life and business.
This LEAP camp is incredible, and I thank all of my audience members for all the amazing things they offer for these camps by donating at my boot camps. By the way, spreading it out is the way to be in life. When you're blessed to possess certain things, especially money, it's easy to write a check. However, sometimes the blessings include even more, like your time, energy, effort. Volunteering could be very rewarding. Give when and how you're able to provide. When you spread that out the goodness, the better that happens in the world. By the way, the more you give, the more you receive. Good will happen for you. If nothing else, you feel better knowing what you've done.
By the way, here's something else. When I used to go to a grocery store, and there would be a homeless person or somebody asking for money I used to give them money. I'd give them money and request them not to purchase alcohol or drugs with the cash. Then, I'd always be wondering all of the time if they paid attention to me or if I just invested in something I didn't support. I wondered if that guy bought food or if he bought the alcohol or drugs.
Then, I did a little shift. Any time I go to the grocery store and see somebody who is homeless, I will go in and buy them two or three bags of groceries. I come out and give them groceries. At least I know they have food. Why? I see people who walk by these folks, and they will not even acknowledge them. They are people. They are human beings. Just help them. I do not care how you do it. Give them a dime. A dime is more than they have now. Go buy them some food. Alright, I am off my soapbox.
In my opinion, that is something that wealthy people do. You give to others you cannot do for themselves. However, I am all for giving them information to get better, too. If you have the time and resources, then give them a hand up by helping them help themselves. If you are not able to give time and resources, then there is nothing wrong with cash or a check. If you want to be wealthy, then you need to think, feel and act as if you are wealthy starting right now. Got it? Good.
