Ways Of Using Bible Verse Gifts And Scripture Candy

By Kathrine Lasseter

Scripture candy is not just for kids. Ideal for teaching Bible lessons to kids of all ages, bible candy is great for all kinds of outreach events from Halloween to Easter, festivals and picnics. Inspirational wedding tins make superb favors for guests that they will cherish forever.

Do you know, there are actually specific prayers and poems for Jelly Beans! They both explain what the color of each 'salvation color' means in the context of the Bible Story. These can be printed on small packets of the chewy sweets.

Sand candy provides endless inspiration for teaching the Bible and spreading the gospel. It comes in handy squeeze bottles so it can be poured into plastic tubes without making a mess. The tubes can be labelled with scriptures and then sealed with a plastic top. These can be incorporated into Bible lessons, given as party favors, distributed for outreach.

It was the pagan holiday, Halloween, that inspired the concept of Bible candy. Someone had the idea to turn it into an opportunity to save souls. Bible verses can be printed onto single bags of candy corn, rolled candies, bubble gum wrappers, pocket tins, you name it. If it has a wrapper, it can be printed with scripture. After Halloween, it was a natural progression to Easter, Valentine's Day and Xmas.

If the President of the United States can hand out special boxes of candy-coated chocolate bearing the presidential seal, why not spread the word about your church with the details printed onto tiny bags of jelly beans. Have church information on one side of the wrapper and Bible scripture on the other. If you are planting a new church, this would be a great way to let local residents know who you are and where to find you.

These idea is not confined to Bible candy. Scripture can be printed onto key rings, posters, coffee mugs and T-shirts. Print someone's favorite scripture onto one of these gifts for a birthday present. Have bookmarks printed up with the address and times of church services. Sell them at church festivals or give them away for outreach events.

Bible classes, holidays, outreach, fundraising, these are some of the many possible uses for scripture candy. It is also a terrific medium for putting God's Word into everyday use instead of just for Sundays and special occasions. Kids can be encouraged to save Bible verses like they do cards for their favorite sporting heroes. This is a great concept for adults, too.
