Basic Hybrid Cars Facts You Need To Know

By Morgan Lee

Immediately the first vehicle was developed the human mind has not rested as they try to make even better ones. But those efforts have bore fruits as these latest brands are highly efficient in all areas that their designers had imagined. Unlike conventional types, there are some hybrid cars facts that differentiate them from the former.

The first one is that they use more than one source of power to enable propulsion. With the conventional models using only the combustion engine to power them, these new ones include an electric motor in addition. They can partially use this electric motor as fuel and the vehicle moves just the same.

Based on gasoline consumption, this model consumes less. To ensure that it remains this low has been the work of the electric motor which takes up some duties of the main engine. The low fuel consumption efficiency is brought about by the reusing of excess energy that the engine produces to re-energize the motor batteries.

This automobile is more environmental friendly than conventional ones. First of all, this happens when it saves energy through alternating between the two power sources. The carbon dioxide that would have been emitted is thus not present. The net result is that this vehicle does not add to the greenhouse effect that has had negative implications on the planet.

The other fact about this automobile is the ability to recharge its batteries that then propel it as a reliable power supply. This recharging is made possible by using the excess energy that the combustion engine provides. The bigger share from the engine of course goes into propelling the vehicle ahead but the extra power is what recharges. This battery energy can then be used to power the vehicle while the engine shuts off.

There are some automobiles in this category that are charged by plugging them to a source of power. The batteries in these models are built larger to help them store enough power. Some take less time to get completely charged while others take longer. This depends on some factors like their make.

The other of the hybrid cars facts that you need to know is that on average, they are easy to maintain than conventional ones. First you need less fuel and then this little gasoline in the engine works overtime to share the propulsion duties with the electric motor leaving little room for wear and tear.
