The significance of bee products as a human supplement has been known from ancient times. As early as 5000 B. C. Ancient Egyptians had recorded their healing properties, as were the Babylonians. Their were used in religious ceremonies by the early Indians. The secret remained quietly until Western society realized that Russian beekeepers lived easily to 100 years old and beyond. Now these wonderful elixirs are used universally.

Royal Jelly has been used in Europe for a long time, as a Fountain of Youth style elixir. This is due to the fact that the Queen Bee lives many times longer than the regular worker bees. She is the only one who eats only the Royal Jelly exclusively, and it is believed this is the key to her long life.

Royal Jelly is secreted from the glands in the heads of the worker bees, and is fed to all bee larvae. Only the one destined to be Queen is fed on the jelly after the first three days. It is collected from the honeycomb of the queen larvae, and is a perishable product. Sometimes honey or beeswax is added to aid in preservation.

Sometimes called a natural antibiotic, Propolis is another important addition. It can sometimes be used in place of traditional antibiotics for those with allergies. Propolis can minimize the symptoms of allergic reactions, and helps protect the body against some forms of bacteria. As a skin adjunct, it can help rejuvenate, and slow the appearance of ageing.

Bee Pollen is considered by many to be the most complete and nutritional food in the world. It is used by health conscious people the world over, as it aids mental and physical stamina and energy levels, and is rich in the essential amino acids.

In addition to its general invigorating qualities, bee pollen is also an excellent aid in weight control. When eaten with meals, it helps aid the digestion, and assist the body in assimilating the nutrients in the meals. The body is therefore using the food in an optimum way, and consequently needs less for to feel satisfied.
